It’s mid-January, and whew, what a time to be alive. Between the transition into authoritarian leadership (wait, TikTok is banned now?!), my childhood cat needing urgent care, and my journey of switching careers, life feels like... a lot.
So, let’s take a little trip down Delulu Avenue, shall we? A place where we can hit pause on the chaos and indulge in some much-needed joy. Welcome to my new quarterly series: Jamie’s Favorites! Here, I’ll share how my tastes evolve, which habits I’ve embraced or abandoned, and—of course—my must-have products of the season.
Without further ado, here are Jamie’s Winter 2024-2025 Favorites:
For the Home: A Tranquil Sanctuary
Transforming your home into an escape doesn’t require a full remodel—just a few thoughtful touches to make your space feel luxurious and serene.
Start with fresh lavender or basil on your nightstand. Lavender promotes peaceful dreams, while basil is all about balance and clarity. Add a few rose quartz and amethyst crystals to clear out negative energy and infuse your home with love and calm.
As a journaling enthusiast, Moleskine journals and Micron pens remain my top picks for bullet journaling and creative writing. Whether you’re organizing your to-do lists or reflecting on your day, the right tools make all the difference.
To set the mood, light a Cozy Nights candle from Target. This scent has been my safe space since the late 2000s—it’s warm, inviting, and instantly relaxing. Pair that with practical luxury like the Cosori Gooseneck Electric Kettle, Keurig K-Café SMART Coffee Maker, and Frigidaire Countertop Ice Maker for the ultimate drink station. For tea lovers, I highly recommend Stash Earl Grey Black Tea or the Trader Joe’s Instant Chai Latte Powder for a cozy treat.
Of course, presentation is key. I’ve been obsessed with CB2 drinkware for its modern and chic design, perfect for making even the simplest cup of tea feel elevated.
For the Face: Skin Care
Winter is all about keeping your skin hydrated and happy, even in harsh conditions. My self-care routine always starts with a double cleanse using CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser to gently remove makeup and dirt.
When I want to treat myself, I turn to the ultimate at-home spa experience. Enter Kneipp Lavender Aromatherapy Bubble Bath—a product that makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a luxurious European spa. Pair it with Whole Foods’ Rose-Infused Epsom Salts, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for relaxation.
For weekly pampering, I also recommend the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops for a fresh, radiant complexion. Add in a Sephora Rose Quartz Facial Roller for a little extra indulgence.
Don’t forget the ambiance! Light some tea candles, play soft instrumental music, and diffuse your favorite essential oil. It’s a ritual that’s about more than just skincare—it’s about recharging your mind and body.
For the Face: Makeup
Winter makeup has to work overtime—think moisture, staying power, and versatility. For a flawless base, I start with Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream, which keeps my skin hydrated and prepped for makeup.
For a natural yet put-together winter look, I rely on cream-based products like the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush for a pop of color and a contour stick followed by a powder bronzer for definition. A touch of Glossier Cloud Paint also gives me that soft, healthy glow.
When it comes to eyes, I aim for a sultry yet brightened look: a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on the waterline, Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, and a softly diffused smoky eye using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette. The goal is to serve rich, powerful, and effortlessly chic vibes.
For lips, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is my winter savior—it’s technically for overnight, but I love using it during the day for hydration and a subtle shine.
For the Body: Clothing, Shoes, Accessories
Winter fashion for me is all about balancing comfort and sophistication. My go-to staples include oversized trench coats, cozy yet elegant robes, and structured baggy high-waisted pants. It’s about layering without losing shape or style.
For shoes, Vivaia pointed-toe flats are my current obsession—they’re sustainable, water-resistant, and so chic. On days when I want a bit more edge, I opt for a pair of chunky platform boots or classic slingback heels for that understated glam.
Accessories are where you can really shine. I love mixing bold and timeless pieces—think pearls, oblong hoops, and gold chains. For bags, the JW Pei Maze Crossbody has been my go-to this season. It’s sleek, functional, and works with almost any outfit.
Finally, for outerwear, you can never go wrong with a wool-blend trench coat or a plush faux-fur jacket to brave those chilly days in style.
Final Thoughts
Winter can feel heavy, but it’s also the perfect time to invest in yourself—whether that’s through skincare, cozy home upgrades, or stylish wardrobe additions. I hope my favorites inspire you to embrace little luxuries that make the season more magical.
Now it’s your turn! What are your winter must-haves? Share them in the comments—I’d love to hear how you’re making this season your own.
